Important Dates
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE - 21 November 2025
Authors who wish to contribute a paper to the conference…
- Must first submit a 300-word maximum abstract electronically to the ICES submission site (EasyChair) no later than Monday, 10 NOVEMBER 2025
- Will be asked to choose the Technical Track that best suits the abstract or topic of your proposed paper
Proposed papers should…
- Present technical developments and progress in any of the fields of environmental systems listed in the session descriptions on the Technical Sessions page
- Make a new and original contribution to the state of the art, or be a constructive review of the technical field
The electronic submission process to EasyChair is as follows:
- Access EasyChair for ICES 2026
- Log in or create an account
- Click “Make a New Submission” under the “Author” heading- or if you’ve already submitted and need to add another, click “New Submission” in the top menu.
- Select a “Track” (Session Topic) relevant to your submission
- If unsure which Session Topic your submission falls under, please submit to ICES600: Other
- Follow all remaining steps in EasyChair to complete the Author Information, as well as the Title & Abstract sections
- Designate at least one author as the corresponding author – this is the person to receive all communications regarding the poster submission

DRAFT PAPER DEADLINE - 09 March 2026
Authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to provide a Draft Manuscript by Monday, 09 March 2026. All drafts submissions must use the ICES 2026 Paper Template. Use the Manuscript Submission Checklist found on page 7 of the Paper Template to ensure your submission meets all manuscript requirements.
The ICES Guide to Submission and Peer Review Process, containing detailed instructions and additional guidelines for submitting papers to ICES can be found on the Author Materials & Resources page.
Draft Papers will be reviewed by 3 independent reviewers that were pre-selected by your session chair(s). Each of these reviewers were selected to review papers that are in their own area of expertise and have relevant knowledge of your technical content. All reviews will be conducted within the EasyChair system and will include detailed feedback, revision requests and a score by each reviewer.
Authors will receive via email these detailed reviews directly from their session chair upon their completion. Please find the following schedule outlining key dates in this process:

** 09 March is a HARD DEADLINE!!
No papers will be considered after this date without pre-coordination and only under extreme extenuating circumstances (pending ITAR reviews do not qualify as extenuating circumstances). Further, no papers can be considered after March 16, regardless of circumstances.

* Note that second drafts are only required if your first Draft Manuscript received one or more scores of 0 or lower. If all scores from reviewers were 1, 2, or 3, please proceed to the Final Manuscript. Changes from the first draft are tracked so reviewers can see where their comments have been addressed.
FINAL MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
13 April – 11 May 2026
The final manuscript can be submitted at any time after all revisions are completed. Use the Manuscript Submission Checklist found on page 7 of the paper template to ensure your submission meets all manuscript requirements.
FINAL MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION : 13 April -11 May 2026
Based on a peer review of the draft manuscript, the author and session organizer(s) will collaborate toward revision and acceptance of a final version of the paper. Authors must then submit the accepted Final Manuscript to ICES no later than Monday, 11 May 2026 in order to be included in the conference program and proceedings.
Final Manuscripts must be uploaded to Easy Chair as a PDF with Line #s REMOVED
To remove line numbers, go to Layout in the word doc and select “none” under the line numbers drop down.
Use the Manuscript Submission Checklist for Final Manuscripts (found on page 7 of the paper template) to ensure publication requirements are met.
